Big Thunder Mountain is a roller-coaster attraction at four different Disney theme parks.
The first one was opened at Disneyland in California on 2 September 1979. This ride is 2671 feet (814 meters) and takes 3 minutes and 14 seconds. It is the only one which has the town located right above the waiting line:
Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is 2780 feet (847 meters) long and takes 3 minutes and 25 seconds. It opened on 23 September 1980:
Big Thunder Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland opened on 4 July 1987 and the ride is 3 minutes and 40 seconds:
Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris is by far the longest one with 4921 feet (1500 meters) and it takes 3 minutes and 56 minutes. It opened with the park on 12 April 1992 and so the imagineers didn’t have a lot of limits on size. This version is different from the original ones at Walt Disney World and Disneyland as passengers board the train on land and the train goes under water to the mountain, which is situated on an island in the river:
